In the Opera we offer an opulent repertoire of the great works from four centuries at a high international standard, due to the fact that with the Gewandhaus Orchestra one of the leading international musical ensembles plays in the orchestra pit of the Leipzig Opera. We can look back on the tradition of over 300 years of musical theatre and are playing in a house that is one of the most impressive theatrical buildings of the Sixties. The Leipzig Ballet is a highlight in the cultural life of the city and is also a highly welcome cultural ambassador of Leipzig throughout the world. And finally, the Musikalische Komödie promises to provide high-class entertainment by means of operettas and musicals.
